Bathtub Guide
Information about walk-in tubs, liners, refinishing, faucets, manufacturers, and installation.Drains
There isn’t that much to say about bathtub drains. After all, they are typically hidden below the tub and from a users perspective, they are all the same. The main thing to keep in mind is that if your tub’s drain isn’t at least 2 inches in diameter, it will drain very slow. There are usually legal requirements for shower drains, because they need to drain fast as the shower runs, but bathtubs have no real reason to drain fast (once you hop out, it can keep draining, so who cares). If you have a walk-in bathtub, with a door, that requires the tub to drain before you can get out, we highly recommend a drain that is at least 3 inches in diameter.
